Amazon ended FBA prep and labelling in Canada: what sellers do now

Amazon stopped prep and item-labelling services for FBA in the Canada store on July 1, 2026. Here is what changed and how to prepare shipments.

According to the Amazon SP-API changelog, Amazon no longer offers prep and item-labelling services for FBA shipments in the Canada marketplace as of July 1, 2026. That covers inventory sent straight into FBA and inventory moving through Amazon SEND or the Supply Chain Portal. The US store lost the same services on January 1, 2026.

What it means

Every unit sent to an amazon.ca fulfillment centre must arrive correctly labelled and prepared. Amazon's category prep requirements did not change; who does the work did.

What to do

  • Review prep requirements for your top ASINs: polybags, bubble wrap, set labels, expiry dates.
  • Confirm FNSKU barcodes are correct before inventory leaves your supplier.
  • Add the prep cost to your cost of goods for each SKU.
  • Line up a prep partner in Canada before your next inbound shipment.
